Often project manager’s may face various sources of stress that

project managers need to know.

An
Invitation to 3rd MSC Project Management Awareness Dialogue - ‘A’ is for
‘ACCEPTANCE’

Many projects fail to complete on time or on budget because the customer fails
to accept the projects outcome. The importance of Acceptance Planning is the key
to many projects running smoothly, yet many customers do not want to talk about
Detailed Acceptance Criteria prior to signing contracts. How should Acceptance
be approached in complex and long duration projects. A case study will be
included in the presentation.

MSC PROJECT MANAGEMENT
AWARENESS DIALOGUE PROVES A HIT WITH ICT COMMUNITY
21st February, 2006, MSC Innovation Centre, Cyberjaya: Being the first in
a series of many more sessions for the year, The MSC Project Management
Awareness Dialogue today saw more than 70 attendees eagerly listening in on the
project management experiences, best practices and the special MSC Project
Management Program crafted by Multimedia Super Corridor for the ICT community.
Guests were welcomed by Ms Ng Wan Peng, Vice President, MDC, who in her speech
emphasized upon how imperative project management certification is in achieving
world standards, and the commitment of MDC in assisting the Malaysian ICT
community in building capabilities in this area.
Mr Serge De Bock, PMP®, the speaker for this dialogue, shared his vast
experiences in implementing project and program management in a large
organization. His 17 years of project understanding and execution in Shell gave
the audience real live scenarios and challenges in project management, in a
multinational platform that saw issues and concerns of global proportions.
As the dialogue drew to a close, Ms. Aiza Zeyati, PMP®, from MDC provided a
briefing on the MSC Project Management Program's concept and criteria for
interested individuals. The Q&A session at the end, saw a lively exchange of
questions and sharing of experiences, not just from the speaker but even from
members of the floor. Coordinated by Mr. SK Khor, PMP®, chairman of the
dialogue, the Q&A session turned into a debate on many serious issues in
project management such as a project manager's credibility in cross industry
project management projects, responsibilities in quality assurance, how
organizations such as Shell encourage its project staff to embrace certification
as part of their career development, and many more interesting topics which
extended beyond the allocated time.
The dialogue was supported by PMI® Information Technology &
Telecommunications Special Interest Group (ITT SIG - http://www.pmi-ittelecom.org)
and Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC - http://www.mncc.com.my).
Positive feedback was received from the participants who were generally pleased
with the session and are looking forward to the coming series at MSC Innovation
Centre. For more information on upcoming series and the MSC Project Management
Program, please go to www.mscinnovationcentre.com.my
